At Schaumburg, coaching is the foundation of our academic culture and vision. Coaching includes:You will ensure teachers are coached effectively and improve their performance through clear coaching visions, effective debriefs, and strong school-based professional development.You will be an ELA and Literacy instructional expert. You will ensure teachers plan and internalize rigorous, engaging, Common Core or GLE-aligned lessons and effectively execute them to ensure all students work with content aligned to the appropriate standards for their subject and grade.Systems: In conjunction with the school vision, mission, and values, be able to create or modify schedules and academic groupings based on student data.Proactively create, prepare, and communicate school systems to stakeholders. By anticipating stakeholder needs, we can make necessary ed systemic changes aligned with school priorities and mission.Data: Determining the most salient aspects of a data set and utilizing it to plan professional development sessions and coaching sessions.Use data all day, every day. You and your teachers will assess qualitative and quantitative student data to draw insightful conclusions and adjust instruction as necessary.Culture: In alignment with the established school culture system, be able to effectively model, observe, and coach colleagues on academic and student cultureCreate a positive student and staff culture.
