Position Summary
InspireNOLA is currently seeking a smart and motivated Data Manager who can bring strong problem-solving and
analytical skills to a leading charter management organization. InspireNOLA is committed to using data to drive instructional improvement in its classrooms. The Data Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing student achievement analyses which enable InspireNOLA to track, measure, and optimize outcomes.
The role is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in education and developing technical skills in data management and analysis. The role will also provide exposure and access to professional development opportunities which will expand the manager’s knowledge of the education sector.
Position Qualifications & Competencies
• Bachelor's degree required, master’s degree in related field preferred
• Prior experience developing data strategy and solving data challenges in the specific context of K-12 public schools a significant plus; relevant experience in any environment requiring government/funder compliance reporting a plus
• Ability to switch flexibly between extreme detail orientation and high-level strategic vision to deliver accurate and high-quality products
• Collaborative mindset and strong written and oral communication skills
• Resilience, strong work ethic and outcomes orientation—demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities under stress and follow through to deliver unfailing excellence, despite tight or unexpected deadlines and circumstances
• Strong quantitative and technical skills:
• Fluency with Microsoft Excel required;
• Experience with programming languages strongly preferred; statistical software (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS, SAS) and/or SQL
• Experience manipulating large datasets and working with raw data preferred
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
• Operates as leader in the organization, building a vision for data, information, and analysis alongside senior leaders
• Creates reports and visualizations to display student achievement data and teacher performance data
• Performs statistical analyses and prepares high-level data sets for school site leaders and staff on student performance data (including norm and criterion referenced exams)
• Thoughtfully distills data to provide network leadership with data analyses that can be used to support decision- making and strategic planning
• Leads data meetings with network office team and Heads of School that focus on detailed analysis of data
• Supports Heads of School and Academy Principals in creating staff professional development sessions that focus on data analysis
• Collaborates with network office staff to build predictive models for student performance
• Collaborates with school site Data Specialists to ensure timely completion of all required state reports
• Oversees selection, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and vendor management for all student data systems
• Helps drive teacher performance and retention by coordinating the collection, validation, storage and analysis of student achievement data and staff/student survey data during the school year
Professional Development
• Leads the creation and high-quality execution of in-person training presentations and workshops on student data systems and processes to school staff throughout the school year
• Leads professional development sessions on data management systems including: PowerSchool, Data Director, School Force, MAP, CIS, CVR, DIBELS, Mastery Prep, LEAP/iLEAP/EOC and other data systems utilized by the school
• Provides one-on-one coaching for school data specialists and school leaders on topics relevant to data management, data analysis, and data-based decision making
Compliance Management
• Facilitates accountability by ensuring InspireNOLA as a good understanding of state policies and comparing student data against those policies
• Oversees cyclical compliance reporting to the State of Louisiana and other high stakes reporting to key entities
• Understands the underlying database model of PowerSchool to facilitate reporting and integrations
• Anticipates, identifies, and resolves various technology obstacles to ensure success of overall data collection and analysis
• Collaborates with InspireNOLA data specialists and school site staff to design and implement network-wide data collection, analysis, and dissemination programs that promote data driven decision making at the site level

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. A comprehensive benefits package,
