POSITION: Elementary School Assistant Principal (PK-2nd)
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
START DATE: July 1, 2025
COMPENSATION: Salary starting at $70,000 annually
THE ROLE
When you join the Success at Marshall team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
Modeling and maintaining a mission-driven, aspirational team culture rooted in transformational social emotional learning for staff and students;
Driving academic results by managing and developing a cohort of elementary school teachers;
With the Instructional Leadership Team, setting and upholding clear expectations and standards for excellent teaching in all subject areas;
Leading the elementary school team day-to-day: ensuring that logistics, schedules, roles, and responsibilities are clear and all staff have the clarity, skills, and tools to do their most vibrant work;
Collaborating closely with the Elementary School Dean and other leaders to ensure that systems are working and are meeting the needs of our students;
Managing the performance of each individual elementary staff member and the team as a whole, mediating conflict and differentiating support as needed to uphold expectations and protect team culture
Planning and facilitating high quality team meetings and professional development
Like all leaders, owning an arrival, mid-day, and/or dismissal post to ensure safe and healthy behavior in all common spaces
Other duties as assigned
THE PERSON

MUST HAVES
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
At least 3 years of leadership experience with a proven track record of working through adults to achieve ambitious results for kids
Belief in the brilliance of our students and commitment to serving all children
Content expertise in grades PK-2 and at least 5 years of exemplary teaching experience
Openness to inviting, giving and receiving frequent feedback
Ability to acknowledge, manage, and share emotions, build and maintain healthy relationships, embrace healthy conflict, and work collaboratively across lines of difference
Highly skilled at managing time and tasks- organized, communicative, and reliably keeps commitments
Practices radical responsibility for themselves and the staff / students they manage; owns all outcomes for their team
Is insatiably curious; loves to learn and grow
THE NICE TO HAVES
Masters Degree in teaching, educational leadership, or related field
Science of Reading Certification (if not, must complete in first year of employment at Marshall)
Experience teaching multiple subjects and grades within PK-4
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
We are committed to pay equity. For each role we hire for, we establish the compensation band in which the open role fits. The entry point of this band is $70,000. The actual level of the successful candidate (and corresponding salary) will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, demonstrated competencies, and other relevant factors.
