About Thurgood Marshall

Why Work at Thurgood Marshall?
Come join a school family that lifts each other up, holds each other accountable, and keeps the love of our students at the center of everything we do. As a stand-alone, single-site K-8 charter school, we are unique in that we can innovate and adapt to meet the specific needs of our community and to create the school our kids and community deserve. There is no larger network working to standardize practices. There's simply our kids, our families, our community, and our future. We are building a school community that any family of any means would be happy to have their child attend, anchored in rigorous and relevant academics, world-class co-curricular programming, and strong social-emotional development. Our kids will take strength in where they are from, love who they are, and know where they are going. Come build with us. Be@Marshall.

Our Compass:
Education is freedom, and we fight for it every day. We teach the most amazing kids in the world and it is an honor to serve them. We protect and elevate our students’ passion, experience, identity, and voice. Our children will know their greatness.

With love for our students, we give everything we can and never give up. We promise to learn as much as we teach by embracing the challenges we face. We will celebrate our accomplishments, overcome the barriers, and keep ourselves grounded in our love for our kids and the strength of our team.

We will laugh, smile, sing, dance, and have fun. We will work together as one and hold each other accountable to being our best. All of us. All the time. All the way.
