Position Summary
The Director of Systems and Product Management is responsible for ensuring that the Salesforce platform and Parent Portal meets the needs of families, schools, and district staff. This role has significant project management responsibilities and will oversee the maintenance of the Salesforce system and own the vision and execution for a range of system enhancements. Some evening and weekend hours will be required.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and launches new Salesforce features and manages internal and external communications; about changes with district staff and school stakeholders;
  • Develops innovative solutions to improve the user experience for families and schools; 
  • Maintains future development priorities related to Salesforce and the Parent Portal; 
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to prioritize enhancements;
  • Builds training materials for new tools for district staff and stakeholders;
  • Leads external Salesforce development team(s) to develop user stories, functional requirements, and test cases;
  • Serves as liaison and relationship manager with external software development teams;
  • Develops scope for both internal and external system development and ensures quality implementation and leads user acceptance testing;
  • Creates and maintains Visualforce pages, apex classes, page configurations, permissions, lightning components, and flows;
  • Promotes change sets from development environments to production environments;
  • Formalizes software development life-cycle and plan long-term improvements for Salesforce and other systems as needed;
  • Lead project management and adherence to timelines for each application cycle of the annual student matching process; 
  • Leads collection and validation of match input files and data requests for annual application cycle;
  • Inserts and updates records using the SFDC Data Loader;
  • Attends staff and other district meetings as necessary; and
  • Performs other duties as required.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field required
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience administering, configuring, and developing within Salesforce (SFDC)
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, Platform Developer I/II) strongly preferred

 

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • 3+ years of management/supervisory experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate, establish systems, and track outcomes;
  • Education experience preferred;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook);  
  • Experience with SQL, Python, or R

Performance Evaluation
The employee will be evaluated based on the above position using either two methods: via COMPASS or a NOLA-PS evaluating instrument. If the employee holds an Educational Leadership certification, he/she will be evaluated via COMPASS to ensure renewal of certification.
