Role Overview

As an Instructional Coach / Academic Leader, you will serve as a key member of the Academic Team, providing

instructional coaching and strategic support to teachers to strengthen Tier 1 and targeted instruction through

data-driven practices, high-quality curriculum implementation, and collaborative coaching.

Depending on your role, you will support instruction within a specific content area (Humanities or STEM) or across content areas (SPED leadership). Core curricula include:

  • Arts & Letters (ELA)
  • Bayou Bridges (Social Studies)
  • Illustrative Mathematics
  • Amplify Science

Core Responsibilities

Instructional Coaching & Teacher Development

  • Coach teachers to strengthen instructional practices, including whole group, small group, and
  • individualized instruction
  • Support alignment between Tier 1 instruction and targeted supports to ensure access for all learners
  • Facilitate strong implementation of high-quality curriculum within assigned content area(s)
  • Provide ongoing coaching through co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, classroom observation, and
  • actionable feedback
  • Develop individualized teacher action plans based on observation and student data
  • Lead professional learning aligned to instructional priorities and curriculum implementation

Curriculum & Instructional Alignment

  • Support teachers in adapting and scaffolding Tier 1 curriculum to meet diverse student needs
  • Ensure coherence between targeted supports and core instruction
  • Collaborate with instructional leaders to strengthen alignment within and across grade levels
  • Data-Driven Instruction & Assessment
  • Support the administration and analysis of benchmark assessments (e.g., DIBELS, MAP Growth, ANet,
  • LEAP, and other screeners)
  • Analyze multiple data sources (assessments, student work, observations) to identify trends and
  • instructional priorities
  • Support teachers in monitoring progress and adjusting instruction to meet student needs
  • Maintain systems for tracking student progress and instructional impact

Collaboration & Schoolwide Impact

  • Foster strong collaboration among teachers, including general education and specialized staff
  • Partner with school leaders to align instructional priorities and supports
  • Contribute to a schoolwide culture of data use, reflective practice, and continuous improvement
  • Build staff capacity to effectively implement curriculum and respond to student data

Collaborate with teachers and leaders to:

  • Identify students in need of additional support
  • Develop targeted instructional plans
  • Monitor progress and adjust supports
  • Ensure alignment with 504 accommodations and collaborate with Special Education teams

Position Expectations

  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability based on assigned content area(s) or role
  • Maintain a consistent coaching cycle aligned to teacher and student needs
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with all stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree (M.Ed., MAT, or related) preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of successful teaching experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful instructional coaching experience.
  • Strong instructional expertise in a relevant content area (Humanities, STEM, or specialized instruction)
  • For SPED leadership roles: demonstrated experience supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • across content areas
  • Experience with or familiarity with high-quality curricula such as Arts & Letters, Bayou Bridges,
  • Illustrative Mathematics, and Amplify Science preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze student data and drive instructional decisions
  • Experience coaching adults or leading professional development strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, leaders, and support staff
