Job Goal: To promote, support, and assist in the implementation of the best instructional, data-driven practices for students. The instructional facilitator supports the Lake Forest Elementary Charter School framework for high student achievement by building and managing continuous effective instructional programs.

Qualifications: Valid Louisiana Certification is required. Must possess a minimum of 7-10 years of successful teaching. Must demonstrate some leadership skills. Must be able to effectively work with teachers, parents, students, and administration. Strong writer and communicator. A Master’s degree and/or specialist certification is preferred.  Must demonstrate strong technological skills.

Reports To: CEO and/or Chief of Staff, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Executive Director of School Quality.

Responsibilities: Works as part of the leadership team with CEO, Chief of Staff, Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Executive Director of School Quality.

Facilitate academic support team, school improvement planning team and response-to-intervention team.

Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations.

Serve as a resource for personnel new to school. (Mentor new teachers.)

Support student transitions: school to school and grade to grade.

Plan and deliver professional development.

Plan and implement strategies to involve parents.

Provide instructional strategies in specific content areas that are research based.

Lesson design and implementation.

Identify and monitor low performing students and support extra efforts for these students.

Guide teachers in changing instructional strategies/delivery to support students needs and develop reteaching or support plans document to provide intervention.

Coordinate efforts in curriculum implementation.

Provide high quality instructional delivery while team teaching with teachers on staff.  

Assist school building level administrators in securing and maintaining appropriate inventories of instructional materials essential to the school’s educational program.

Ensures teachers are knowledgeable and executes information in the Eagle Binder. 

Seek out and provide instructional resources and curricular assistance for classroom instruction.

Research, identify, and model best practices.

Encourage and mentor the integration of technology in daily instruction.

Monitor and assist with the integration of technology in daily instruction.

Monitor effectiveness of classroom instruction, management, environment, and interventions.

Monitor and intervene when necessary, the behavior of  the students in the assigned grade level range.

Data analysis and dissemination.

Serve as test coordinator.

Serve as a member of the Student Assistant Team (SAT).

Attend academic conferences between parents and teachers.

Empower parents with strategies and techniques to assist their child.

Assist in the administration, disaggregation, and interpretation of Incremental Assessment data to build capacity and make recommendations to teachers/Instructional Leaders for modification of instructional strategies to improve student performance in all subjects.

Maintain documentation of logs, references, records and instructional-related activities.

Keeps abreast of current literacy research, trends, and issues by engaging in professional development activities.

Must be able to foster teamwork and collegiality.

Must be able to multitask at the leadership level.
