Position Summary: To enhance campus safety and provide additional support to the Security Department, NOMMA seeks to hire a Part-Time School Monitor. Working approximately 25 - 30 hours per week, School Monitors are responsible for helping ensure the safety and well-being of cadets during critical periods of the school day. Primary duties may include serving as a crossing guard, monitoring and assisting cadets during school bus arrival and dismissal, supervising cadet behavior during lunch periods, and performing other safety-related assignments as directed. Through proactive supervision, positive interactions with cadets, and consistent enforcement of school expectations, School Monitors play a vital role in maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment while supporting the overall mission of the Security Department.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

• Assist cadets, families & pedestrians in safety crossing the streets before and after school
• Monitor traffic and ensure vehicles obey crossing rules
• Maintain a calm and commanding presence in a high-traffic environment
• Serve as a visible and approachable presence for cadets and staff
• Follow the directions of the Security Manager and effectively communicate with school staff as necessary for safety coordination
• Monitor lunches in cafeteria
• Provide coverage as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience in law enforcement, military, or school settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and think clearly in high-pressure situations
• Must pass a background check and any required certifications. All applicants will be fingerprinted

Hours and Salary:

• AM shift is 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. PM shift is 3:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Work only when school is in session (no holidays, weekends or summer hours).
• $20 per hour. This is a part-time position with no benefits.
