About This Role: We currently have four high schools in New Orleans and one high school in Baton Rouge, and we are hiring English teachers in both cities. Teachers must be deeply committed to creating a classroom culture where 100% of your students are engaged in rigorous lessons aligned to the college ready bar.
Our Approach to English: We design our approach to English to be inclusive and ambitious while also prioritizing choice and ownership. We aim to have the texts and topics we tackle show a wide range of different voices and perspectives. We believe that all students deserve to engage in these conversations and texts, and work to provide supports that allow all students of all abilities access to them.
Though we do follow a curriculum that includes challenging texts, we also give students multiple ways to demonstrate their understanding through different assessment options and emphasize independent reading to extend the skills...
