Summary:
To help students learn subject matter and/or skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able,
responsible men and women who become lifelong learners.

• Performs other duties as required by the principal or his/her designee
Additional Responsibilities
• Guide the learning process of students in the classroom achievement of curriculum goals and state
standards, as well as state and federal guidelines.
• Upgrade teaching methodologies and use of technology in line with current research, trends and
practices in education.

• Achieve those improvement objectives for professional and/or personal growth set jointly with the
principal/administrative team when so assigned as part of the accountability process mandated by the
state legislature.
• Counsel with students, parents, counselors, and support personnel on a regular basis to give feedback
on student performance and to plan for instruction.
• Plan and supervise purposeful tasks for teacher assistant(s) and volunteer(s) assigned to the teacher.
• Perform professional responsibilities in terms of attendance, maintenance of records, timely submission
of reports, following schedules and duty, etc.
• Implement any changes in policies and/or practices that are required.
• Embrace the culture as defined by school wide Project Pride Rules of Kindness, Respect, Responsibility
& Hard Work.
• Perform such other duties as may be required and/or assigned by administrators.
Special Education Responsibilities:
• Special Education Teachers will maintain up-to-date and accurate special education records and will
schedule and conduct IEP conferences according to state guidelines
• Regular Education Teachers will implement accommodations and/or special needs plans outlined on
plans such 504 & 1508
Qualifications, Education and Work Experience:

Education and Experience
• Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently to carry out assignments and complete within parameters of instructions
given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices
