About Hynes-UNO Campus

Hynes-UNO was formed with a corporate partnership with the University of New Orleans. It is a slow-growing campus that will serve students in Kindergarten to eighth grade by 2027. In 2025-2026, Hynes-UNO will open the first four middle school classrooms (6th grade). Since the summer 2024, Hynes-UNO is located in a new State-of-the-Art building on UNO's campus (1901 Leon C Simon Drive) next to BenFranklin High School.

Minimum Qualifications 

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree 
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certificate

  • Salary commensurate with experience and certification 
  • Enrollment to the Teacher Retirement System of Louisiana – TRSL (21% of the salary)
