POSITION: Pre-K Teacher

 

REPORTS TO: Elementary School Assistant Principal

 

 START DATE: 2026-2027 School Year  

COMPENSATION: Salary range starting at $48,000 

THE ROLE

  • Create a loving, supportive, and structured classroom environment.

  • Plan and facilitate project-based learning experiences that promote inquiry, collaboration, and real-world connections

  • Foster early literacy, numeracy, social-emotional development, and executive functioning skills

  • Use data to inform instruction and support student growth goals.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse developmental levels, including English Learners and students with IEPs

  • Supervise and collaborate effectively with paraprofessional and teacher assistant

  • Communicate effectively with families regarding children’s development

  • Other duties as assigned



THE PERSON

MUST HAVES  

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution 

  • A Louisiana Teaching Certificate (PK-3)

  • Minimum 2 years of exemplary teaching with a proven track record of excellent results

  • Familiarity with development stages and benchmarks for ages 0-5

  • Ability to create a warm, nurturing, and highly structured learning environment 

  • Flexibility; ability to navigate change quickly and effectively

  • Ability to form positive, healthy relationships with students, staff, and students’ families

  • Openness to feedback; willingness to learn and grow

  • Collaborative; ability to set clear goals, and then work in close partnership with our Pre-K teaching assistant to achieve those goals

THE NICE TO HAVES  

  • Certification and/or experience with student-centered approaches to early childhood education, such as Montessori or Reggio Emilia

  • Science of Reading Certification (if not, must complete in first year of employment at Marshall)

  • Knowledge of CLASS and Teaching Strategies GOLD

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

We are committed to pay equity. For each role we hire for, we establish the compensation band in which the open role fits. The entry point of this band is $48,000. The actual level of the successful candidate (and corresponding salary) will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, demonstrated competencies, and other relevant factors.
