About Hynes-Lakeview

Founded in 1952 and restarted as a charter school in 2006, Hynes-Lakeview is HCSC's original campus and serves over 700 students in grades PK-8 in the Lakeview neighborhood of New Orleans. The school is #1 in the percentage of students scoring Mastery on LEAP assessments for open-enrollment schools in New Orleans.

In addition, you consistently do the following:  

  • Guide the learning process of students in the classroom toward the achievement of curriculum goals set by Hynes Charter Schools and/or appropriate federal guidelines. 
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management emphasizing fairness, trust, care, and positive learning.  
  • Incorporate differentiated strategies and techniques. 
  • Collect, analyze and use student data to drive instruction using research-based programs. 
  • Build a bridge of communication and involvement with parents, families, and community leaders. 
  • Meet standards of performance for your individual teaching assignments developed by Hynes Charter School (including the Louisiana Components of Effective Teaching). 
  • Collaborate with peers and school leaders to improve instructional strategies, school climate, and leadership skills. 
  • Have knowledge of and effectively integrate appropriate and engaging technology into teaching. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • B.A. or B.S. Degree 
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certificate
