Hynes Charter School Corporation (HCSC) seeks a motivated Business Manager for Hynes-Lakeview campus for the 2026-27 school year.

About the campus 

Founded in 1952 and restarted as a charter school in 2006, Hynes-Lakeview is HCSC's original campus and serves over 700 students in grades PK-8 in the Lakeview neighborhood of New Orleans. The school is #1 in the percentage of students scoring Mastery on LEAP assessments for open-enrollment schools in New Orleans.

You consistently do the following:  

  • Work closely with CFO and School Principal to perform all accounting and cash functions for school site 

Accounting 

  • Prepare all journal entries for school sites 
  • Reconcile g/l accounts to identify any errors in coding 
  • Prepare and submit all required accounting reports for district and state

Grants 

  • Assist in the preparation and submission of grant proposals  
  • Review and track grant spending 
  • Prepare grant reimbursement requests 
  • Prepare periodic grant reports 

Accounts Payable 

  • Review purchase requests and compare to approved budgets 
  • Prepare Purchase Orders for approved orders, including coding to appropriate funds and accounts 
  • Review vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and receipt of items before processing for payment 

Cash Management 

  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly and verify deposits 
  • Track Student Enrichment and Student Activity funds receipts and expenditures 
  • Review credit card transactions and match to proper supporting documentation 
  • Request transfer of funds to/from school bank accounts as needed 

Other

  • Assist with  external audit  
  • Assist Principal and CFO with annual budget. 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Educational Administration or related discipline required.   
  • Experience in accounting and finance, education, non-profit, or governmental agencies preferred. Federal and state grant accounting experience is preferred
