Einstein Charter Schools (“Einstein”) is a nonprofit Charter Management Organization whose mission is to nurture students to be academically STRONG as well as socially and emotionally resilient.

Founded in 2005, Einstein Charter Schools is a top-performing, tuition-free, open-admissions network serving students in New Orleans East.

Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, Einstein will operate as a unified school serving students in grades Pre-K–8 through the consolidation of Village de l’Est, Sherwood Forest, and Einstein Middle School. This unified model is designed to strengthen alignment across campuses, enhance student support, and provide a seamless educational experience from early childhood through middle school.

Authorized by the Orleans Parish School Board, Einstein serves more than 850 students, over 44% of whom receive English Language Learner (ELL) services. Einstein remains committed to providing a high-quality education that prepares all students for long-term academic and personal success.

Position Overview

The Master Teacher, having both content and instructional expertise, will work as a colleague with classroom teachers and leaders to support student learning and teacher practice. The Master Teacher will provide instructional support and coaching to teachers as they work to ensure that each student is able to reach his or her academic potential. The Master Teacher’s  primary role is to work with teachers to support best practices in using data, provide analysis of school-wide trends in instruction, and make recommendations about potential next steps to address areas of need. The Master Teacher will focus on individual and group professional learning that will expand and refine the understanding about researched-based effective instruction for teachers. In order to meet this purpose, The Master Teacher will provide personalized, 1:1 support based on the goals and identified needs of individual teachers. 

Reports to the Assistant Principal of Academics

Key Responsibilities 

• Support the philosophy and vision of Einstein Charter Schools. 
• Facilitate professional development of teachers with a focus on improving student achievement. 
• Create positive relationships with all stakeholders. 
• Communicate and demonstrate researched-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance.
• React to change productively and handle other tasks as assigned. 
• Provide individualized, classroom-based coaching and modeling to support teachers in implementing good instructional practices. 

General Responsibilities 

• Plan collaboratively with school leaders for teacher support. 
• Provide ongoing content specific professional development to teachers.. 
• Provide regular feedback to school leaders about teacher progress. 
• Provide support in analyzing school data and student assessment data. 
• Format data so it is easily understood and communicated.
• Teach one class period per day during the school year in an assigned content area or grade level, serving as a model classroom teacher who demonstrates high-quality instructional practices, effective classroom management, and implementation of the school's curriculum and instructional expectations.
• Assist teachers with instructional decisions based on assessment data. 
• Provide support for classroom motivation and management strategies. 
• Assist teachers in creating materials that are in alignment with curriculum and the state assessments. 
• Provide teachers resources related to curriculum and instruction with a focus on conceptual learning. 
• Provide assistance in researching instructional and/or curriculum issues. 
• Model effective instruction weekly for teachers using technology if needed.
• Encourage and facilitate ongoing professional growth for content specific teachers. 
• Work positively toward meeting identified goals. 
• Assist with the development of curriculum, instruction, and assessments. 
• Be knowledgeable of the Louisiana State Content Standards and stay abreast of the shifts that occur. 
• Assist teachers with proper planning to execute rigorous lessons. 
• Develop and maintain a confidential, collegial relationship with teachers. 
• Participate fully in professional development for coaches, including peer observations, professional research, and reading. 
• Assist teachers in aligning their teaching with appropriate standards, curriculum, and assessments. 
• Work collaboratively and collegially with other directors, curriculum specialists, and principals.
• Assisting teachers with setting rigorous goals for tiered instruction. 
• Perform such other duties as may be assigned 

Skills/Qualifications 

• A Masters degree is preferred with an emphasis on curriculum or administration. 
• Proven track record of excellence as a classroom teacher with predictive characteristics of an outstanding administrator. 
• Experience working with adult learners, coaching teachers, and delivering professional development. 
• Strong record of helping students achieve academic success, primarily with minority and low income students 
• Experience in analyzing data and using results to modify curricula 
• Multi-faceted, multi-skilled, resourceful, and willing to do whatever it takes to help our students reach a level of academic excellence 
• Model positive and healthy character traits and habits, such as being organized, consistent and understanding
• Unquestioned integrity and commitment to Einstein’s mission and willingness to serve the Einstein community

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
